Beginning our trekking tour of Ladakh in Leh, we visit several monasteries, before commencing our trek in Ridzong.
A short and easy route which seldom goes over 4000m, we visit several villages (amongst the richest in Ladakh) and get to see the lifestyle of the locals, meeting them in their fields or houses. This trekking route also gets you to visit Ridzong, the most recent Gelugpa monastery perched in a fantastic spot, high up in the side valley. This monastery follows the strictest order and the monks possess nothing but their books and robes.
